Hi Haelcer ,
Thanks for posting this. Would you mind translating par. 2 into English?
From all the other editions, it appears the other paragraphs are all identical.
the december canadian kingdom ministry has an article "could your child make a mature decision.
" it instructs parents to indoctrinate their kids to refuse blood and make themselves a martyr.
this, to me, was one of the most chilling sentences in the article (paragraph 3):

hideme, I've sent you a pm. (By the way, I forgot to mention before that was a great point you made about the ages of kids getting baptised.)
A poster who didn't want to be identified sent me the text of par 2 of the Australian km:
2. What Does the Law Say? In general terms, legislation in each Australian state allows a minor’s (anyone under 18) refusal to accept blood to be overruled where one or two doctors believe the minor needs blood to prevent his death or serious damage to his health. Several Australian Courts have said that if a child refuses to consent to treatment and has sufficient maturity and intelligence to understand the nature and implications of the proposed treatment, it is relevant and important. But this does not prevent the court from authorizing the medical treatment where it feels that the best interest of the child requires it. In many instances, however, even although the law may permit a minor’s refusal to accept a blood transfusion to be overridden, doctors have been disinclined to take this course where the minor shows that he is sufficiently mature to understand the gravity of his medical condition, the consequences of his treatment options, and can clearly and firmly express his personal objection to taking blood. Doctors or officials will likely interview the child to assess the measure of maturity that he has attained. The minor therefore needs to be able to express clearly his own religious belief concerning God’s law on blood.
if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!
I'd like to suggest how each one of us can take an active part in publicizing BBN (Barbara's Big News)...
Someone mentioned early on in this thread (sorry, whoever you are, I couldn't face hunting through all the pages again to try to find who you are), that we need to prepare for the Big News. I totally agree with this comment, but how can we prepare?
Whatever the news is, we all want it to have maximum impact. To achieve that, we must publicize it as widely as possible. We can start NOW to compile a list of email addresses of people and organisations in our state / county / country who should be told about our Big News.
No doubt Barbara will give some suggestions what to say. But what kinds of people and organisations would we want on our email distribution list?
For what it's worth, after a bit of digging around on Google and loads of web sites, I've got over 100 email addresses so far, from government ministers to news agencies to... You get the idea.
If everyone--of the thousands of people, from all over the world, who so far have viewed this thread--each compiled a similar email list, we would be certain our emails really would be like scorpions, inflicting massive pain and suffering on Watchtower! And don't they deserve it?
To our emails...!

blondie, thanks for posting this old article. Some things never change.
Severus, thank you for this. Do you have, or can you get, a scan of the article?
hideme, thank you. Similarly, do you have, or can you get, a scan of the article?
((((Balsam)))) We can only guess at the despair and agonies you must have gone through.
skeeter1, are you referring to the 1992 km article, or the 2005 one?
The 1992 article specifically refers to the 1944 Supreme Court decision, in the context that parents do not have unlimited authority over their children medical decisions, which ties in with jgnat's case study.
The 2005 article refers to a case in the Illinois Supreme Court over a mature minor's right to refuse blood.
However, I didn't understand where the Society was lying. Would you mind explaining it in layman's language? Sorry if I'm slow following your line of reasoning! Many thanks.
(I hope you and the family are now feeling better.)
((((caligirl))))

Can anyone confirm that the article appears in the British and Australian kms?

Nobody knows whether it's in the US or UK or Australian editions?
How about other languages--Franch, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian, Polish, Italian, Russian?

Would they courageously defend their firm decision about blood if doctors believed that their life was in jeopardy, even if their parents were not present?
You can just image the parents of a suicide bomber telling their kid that they love them more than anything else in the world, but their eternal life is even more important, so they should go, with their blessing.
Anyway, does this article appear in amy other country's Kingdom Ministry? If so, would you scan it and email it to me (pm me for my email address)?
Many thanks.
where on earth is hilary step?
he has posted just once in 6 months.
i miss his razor sharp intellect - and i hope he does not take offense but slightly arrogant air.
I gather he's well, but keeping extrememly busy with his business interests.
I guess he just haven't have enough hours in the day...
while jehovah's witnesses all over the world are out of work, or wondering where their next meal might come from, or ravished from the results of devastating hurricanes, the watchtower society has taken the contributions from the very pockets of their own members and are now selling the very equipment that their faithful members contributed for.
if the equipment listed below is still in "good technical condition" as the offer describes, then why is it being sold?
why was "new" equipment purchased if this equipment is still in good working order?

I thought it was interesting to see the format of a valid WT email address (they've been very reluctant to give these out). This looks new. It looks like they're now concentrating around the single domain, wtbts.org, using subdomains ('de' in this instance) for each country...
Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know any up-to-date WT email addresses? Any from non-US branches would be especially helpful!
(For the sake of--primarily your!--privacy, it's fine to leave off the part to the left of the '@' symbol.)
Thanks.
last week there were reports of the sad death of a young irish jw, sarah o'leary.
i haven't noticed if anyone else wrote to the irish newspapers, but this is the letter i wrote:
gorey echo, friday 2 dec: "father tells of sorrow on losing sarah" .
skeeter1,
JW children are taken away from their parents when they need blood.
And to think WT has the gall to say only they will survive Armageddon because only they show the true love of Christ...
there are many ways that we can actively protest against the watchtower's unjust and damaging policies.
here is one example of a method that is proving successful.
writing a letter is time-consuming for the author, but the results are worth it.
I agree with willyloman:
And there's the key right there, "one carefully drafted letter...."
For what it's worth, I'll put my neck on the block and offer for brickbats--or bouquets--my recent letter to Irish newspapers:
